The annual International Society for Equitation Science (ISES) conference 2020 is taking place at Hartpury University and Hartpury College, Gloucestershire, UK, one of the world’s leading equine education centres.
ISES is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to foster research into the behaviour, training and management of horses to improve welfare and the horse-human relationship.
The 16th ISES Conference 2020, focused on Succeed with Science, will bring together more than 300 inspiring researchers, practitioners, students, veterinary professionals, equine organisations and industry leaders from across the globe.
Over three days it aims to give delegates a fresh perspective on the current state of Equitation Science, with leading keynote speakers, forum discussions, industry innovations, hands on research discovery workshops and networking.
For more than 25 years, Hartpury has been at the heart of UK equestrianism.
The whole 360-hectare Hartpury campus will be utilised during the conference, including the Equine Therapy Centre, Margaret Giffen Rider Performance Centre and our extensive human sports facilities.
Some guest speakers are already confirmed and will present a range of themes:
- Dr David Marlin – equine performance
- Prof Steve Williams – human neuroscience and its application to equine behaviour/training
- Associate Prof Hayley Randle/Jane Williams – ethical equitation: promoting performance and positive wellbeing through evidence informed practice
- Prof Lars Roepstroff – rider performance
