19th International Conference
Cambridge, New Zealand 2024
The 19th International Conference took place in Cambridge, New Zealand in March 2024. The conference venue was based in the attractive town of Cambridge (Kemureti in MÄori), the 'equine capital' of New Zealand, famous for its âTrees & Champions" and situated next to the mighty Waikato river in the heart of New Zealandâs world famous thoroughbred racing country. The field day offered various experiences, such as visitations to stud yards, Thoroughbred rehoming operations, showjumping breeding and training centres, riding centres for the disabled and racing yards. Also with thanks to our Technology Sponsor the FĂ©dĂ©ration Equestre Internationale (FEI) people were able to attend the conference remotely. We welcomed around 175 âIn personâ and 150 âVirtualâ delegates to join us at the ISES âA Good Life for Horsesâ conference in Cambridge.
Â
ISES New Zealand 2024 provided opportunities for a gathering of equine researchers, veterinarians and practitioners involved in different disciplines including Thoroughbred Racing, Eventing, Show-jumping, Dressage, Pony Club coaching, Horse therapy and many others, to explore the concept of a Good Life for Horse specifically addressing questions such as: Why a Good Life is necessary for horses, and whether it is possible? What a Good life is for a horse involved in sport and leisure? â What do we know, what more do we need to know? How a Good Life can be provided for horses in sport and leisure?
Â
Equitation Science certainly had a good reach with international speakers and conference delegates attending from 18 different countries â from NZ/Australia to UK, Poland, Switzerland, Sweden and the Netherlands to Brazil, US and Canada.
